Next Retreat: January 13-16, Los Angeles, CA.

We are pleased to announce an important opportunity for young adult Unificationists who have had a relationship outside of the Blessing, and would like to reevaluate their faith, renew their spiritual life or seek a clear path to the Blessing. We plan two “Getting Back on Track” retreats for 2012: the first will be held in the Los Angeles area over the Martin Luther King Day weekend, from January 13-16, 2012. The second will be held in the New York area over the Memorial Day weekend, May 24-27, 2012. The program generally begins at 12:00 Noon on a Thursday, and concludes on a Sunday, early evening. The retreat seeks to provide a safe and supportive environment where participants can:

o Experience the unchanging love of God in a supportive community.

o Connect and share with others who have had similar experiences, challenges, and insights.

o Reflect on the values of the Principle and the meaning of the Blessing.

o Find answers to their most important questions.

o Relax and have fun in a peaceful environment.

o Create a personal path of renewal to realize the Blessing in their lives.

Parents may attend, but only at the invitation of their participating son or daughter. Parents whose children are not yet ready to attend may participate themselves. Parents will for the most part meet separately, to give BC participants the freedom to connect, communicate and support one another. As always, participants are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others at the retreat.

Here is what some participants had to say about their experience…

“The Getting Back on Track Workshop was the beginning of my renewed life of faith. The most important aspect wasn’t any particular lecture or part of the workshop, but the overall sense that I could put my past behind me and move forward. The support and community expressed by the staff and attendees eased my worries about being judged or feeling out of place. There’s no quick fix to getting over the past, or even moving forward from the present, but the workshop to me was a good place to start. Since the workshop, I’ve finally taken ownership over my life and my actions. I can confidently share my beliefs with my friends outside the church, and I finally feel like I’m no longer living a double life. I recommend this workshop to anyone who feels hopeless or is tired of living with regrets.“ January 2010 Participant

“The workshop left me feeling really good: empowered, on fire, and ready to start my life.” July 2009 Participant

“The Back on Track workshop really helped me to connect back to the church. I had known for a while that I wanted to leave some of my old life behind and renew my faith, but I didn’t know exactly how to do it. I have never been super involved in church activities, but going to that workshop helped me to connect with other people who have been through similar experiences and gave me a sense of belonging. It provided support and direction, the two things I needed most at the time. I am so grateful for everyone who made it possible!” January 2010 Participant

We look forward to seeing you at the next retreat in January (or in May).

Please share this blog with anyone you know who may benefit from this retreat. If you want to connect with someone in the ministry, contact us at backontrack@unification.org.
